Meet the Girls
Dear friend,
Jason Mann here, founder of Pit Bull Lovers. You can read more about me at the Why did I start this site page.
Right now though I'd like to introduce you to Angel and Honey. They are the Pit Bulls that inspired this website.
Let's meet the girls shall we...
Angel A.K.A. Pudgy Bum
Angel is now 10 years old. She has been living with me since she was three months and is an outstanding example of a sound Pit Bull.
She was born in California and flew over 2,000 miles to come live with me.
The night she arrived she was tired, scared, and while she took a minute to come out of her shipping crate she immediately walked over and sniffed me.
I was amazed at how beautiful she was (and still is).
She is a fetch freak. I mean this dog loves nothing more than to fetch. She has a nose for finding baseballs.
I often tell people if lost people smelled like baseballs she would be the number one Search and Rescue dog in the world.
Several summers ago she found over 186 baseballs at the abandoned park down the road from my house. She can find them anywhere.
Angel is 70 lbs. 68 lbs when in prime condition and can out run nearly every dog she encounters.
She's super athletic and highly intelligent.
Angel is the princess of the house and from the way she wiggles her bum when she walks she knows it. :o)
Honey A.K.A. Honey Bun. A.K.A. The Spaz
In Loving Memory 2001-2010
Honey was being mistreated. I arranged to take her out of the situation and she's been living with me ever since.
As you can see from her picture she gets quite excited for the spring pole. I have to keep her in the house when I put it out for her because she will grab it out of my hands before I can get it set up.
Honey is a suck up from beyond this world. She loves attention or I should say craves it like no dog I have ever seen in all my years.
She will literally throw herself on top of you and flip over for a belly rub. It's funny, but it can be a bit annoying sometimes.
Out of the two Honey is the smaller. Weighing in at a whopping 68 lbs fat and 59-60 lbs when in prime condition she's built like the more traditional older Pit Bulls. Smaller and packed to the rim with energy.
In the early morning hours of November 2, 2010 Honey passed away. She was recovering from a surgery
and became septic. The infection shut her liver and kidneys down. She will be missed greatly.
If you have a high energy Pit Bull or have been around them you might imagine how difficult keeping them from moving around a lot can be.
I love both my dogs and with their help we are attempting to change the perception of the breed. They are both extremely smart and have a spark for life that only a Pit Bull has.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the girls and I hope you have a fantastic visit here at PitBullLovers.com.
