February Photogenic Pit Bull of the Month Winner

Congratulations to SueW for winning the February Contest.

A message from SueW & Petie:

Petie wants to thank everyone who voted for him! I've always thought he was a handsome boy, but I'm a little partial!! I Never thought I would be sharing my life with a pitbull, in fact, all the press I read about the breed was negative and frightening, but when my boyfriend kept hinting he wanted to adopt one from our local shelter, I reluctantly agreed to go and meet a few dogs. ( Just to be cooperative, I didn't plan to say YES to adopting one at all!)

When we met "Knowles"( the name the shelter gave him) , I was impressed at how layed back and calm he was, he came and sat beside me, then rolled on his back!

We left, and on the ride home, I surprised myself when I said Yes to adopting him! He won me over! We renamed him "Petie", and he is the smartest, most loveable, loyal dog I've ever had the pleasure to know! He has been a real joy, and makes us so happy with all his cute, funny pibble ways!

I want to thank the shelter where we adopted Petie, they have so many pitbulls who need forever homes, and they do a great job with them.

Trainers come in and volunteer their time to work with the pitties on obedience, and manners to help make them more adoptable. The shelter has written many positive, educational articles about pitties in the local paper. Cheers to the Harrisburg Humane Society.
