Attention Pit Bull Owners…

July 26th, 2005

Today started out like any other day…

…sitting in front of my PC after letting the girls out I pondered what topics to write about.

I fired up the email to see what new and interesting letters had arrived today and low and behold one stuck out like a man wearing pink underwear at a Tuxedo convention.

The email was about Anti-BSL and presented me with a fresh new idea.

You know, one of those ideas after hearing you ask yourself, “Now why didn’t I think of that?!”

Okay, so what’s the idea?

Well you’ll have to visit the following link to find out. I will tell you this much, go to the store and buy a fresh box of Crayons. It’s a great idea and I personally believe every Pit Bull owner should participate.

The web site with the details is:

Have a great day!

Pit Bull or pitbull or Amstaff or pitt bull

July 20th, 2005

Recently I had a discussion with a visitor to the PitBullLovers.com web site about the proper usage of the term, “Pit Bull.”

I want to set the record straight as there seems to be a lot of confusion about the proper way to use and even spell the term.

There are only two ways to use and spell it.

1. Pit Bull - This usage refers to the American Pit Bull Terrier.
And only the American Pit Bull Terrier.

2. pitbull or pit bull – Refers to any mix breed or American Pit Bull Terrier TYPE of dog. These include, American Staffordshire Terrier, American Bulldog, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier or any mix thereof.

That’s it. It is not spelled with two T’s. Pit Bulls are not mastiffs, they are not English Bulldogs and they are certaintly not these big huge pitbulls that you see today.

Anyone who deals with the American Pit Bull Terrier (the only dog with the words Pit Bull in it’s reconized breed name) will tell you…

…there is only one Pit Bull and that is the American Pit Bull Terrier.

The rest, well, they are pretenders trying to be the real deal. :o)
