Pit Bulls and PETA

July 12th, 2006

I was sitting at my computer doing some work and decided to take a break. I have been working on some new stuff for the web site and am in the process of writing a new book about leadership with our dogs too. Well, the break turned into a whole different project and the result, this post.

PETA is a company of PUNKS. If you support PETA finanically, stop. If you think you know their agenda and support it, stop. If you want to help the American Pit Bull Terrier then shun PETA like never before.

PETA is an organization that in my mind is crazy. Literally out of their minds and the people are anti-human that work there and many people simply don’t know what their true mission is.

PETA’s mission is to eliminate all companion animals.

Here is a quote from Ingrid Newkirk PETA’s president.

“I don’t use the word “pet.” I think it’s speciesist language. I prefer “companion animal.” For one thing, we would NO LONGER ALLOW BREEDING.. People could not create different breeds. There would be no pet shops. If people had companion animals in their homes, those animals would have to be refugees from the animal shelters and the streets. You would have a protective relationship with them just as you would with an orphaned child. But as the surplus of cats and dogs (artificially engineered by centuries of forced breeding) declined, eventually companion animals would be phased out, and we would return to a more symbiotic relationship – enjoyment at a distance — Ingrid Newkirk, PETA’s President, quoted in The Harper’s Forum Book, Jack Hitt, ed., 1989, p.223. “

Pay attention to the words, “Phased out.”

But it’s not just PETA that is taking the issue to the extreme. Hundreds of these organizations are out there and they are no better than the folks behind the Oklahoma Bombing or the World Trade Centers. Matter of fact, they support actions like that in regards to firebombing university research facilities that do important medical research using animals.

Is the use of animals in our medical discovery cruel? In some cases yes. In others no. If a cure for cancer or AIDS can be found through animal research why wouldn’t you support it? To do otherwise would be anti-human.

Here is another quote in regards to this research. This comes from Bill Maher PETA’s Celebrity Spokesperson…

“To those people who say, `My father is alive because of animal experimentation,’ I say `Yeah, well, good for you. This dog died so your father could live.’ Sorry, but I am just not behind that kind of trade off. — Bill Maher, PETA celebrity spokesman. “

To Mr. Maher the life of a dog is more valuable or important than that of a person’s father!

This is the kind of mentality we deal with and the reason I bring it up is because animal rights groups are huge supporters of breed specific legislation. They funnel their support to the law makers and use these situations to further their agenda of total elimination of companion animals, animals for research, animals for food, animals for anything.

Yet another great example…

“Six million Jews died in concentration camps, but six billion broiler chickens will die this year in slaughter houses. — Ingrid Newkirk, PETA’s President, The Washington Post, November 13, 1983. “

This nut case compares the loss of six million human lives in Nazi Germany to chickens we consume for food.

More good news from the Animal Rights folks:

“We are capable of dealing with anyone. No one has died yet but that time will come. — Keith Mann of ALF, as quoted in the Evening Standard [London, Dec. 8, 1998). Mann was sentenced in 1994 to 14 years in prison for leading a gang which, in 1991, attacked almost 700 businesses in Manchester, UK. “

More ALF:

“I would be overjoyed when the first scientist is killed by a liberation activist. — Vivien Smith of ALF (USA Today, September 3, 1991).”

After reading these quotes only an idiot or a person that does not value human life would support these organizations. Low life losers that need validation and power.

PETA members are terrorists and want to literally wage a war on you, the law abiding dog owner.

Also, Ingrid Newkirk wants to kill Pit Bulls so, “people will stop abusing them.”

That makes sense. Instead of holding the abusing person responsible, just kill the breed. This goes to show you that you really can be anything you want in America.

I always knew PETA was insane! But reading that says more!

I’ve never had a “warm and fuzzy” so to speak about PETA. They’ve always seemed fanatical and ridiculous in my opinion. This just confirms what I already knew. Besides there are very few organizations with celebrity endorsements that I support anyway. Those people are wacked and not secure in the workings of the real world.

jeez these people need to be on medication more than i do because there flippin’ crazy. I had a run in with some Peta people a few years back and I couldn’t believe how they behaved. They were absolutely unhinged. I believe in the good treatment of animals infact mine are spoiled rotten but you have to draw the line at some point

I sent this e-mail in response to reading the mentioned article by PETA president Ingrid Newkirk:

I recently read an article dated June 8, 2005 from the San Francisco Chronicle titles “Controlling an animal as deadly as a weapon” written by your president Ingrid Newkirk. In it, Ms. Newkirk supports the policy adopted by many animal shelters to euthanize any pit bull that comes through the door. How can you possibly be taken seriously when you pick and choose which animals are now disposable? Are you not an advocate for all animals, or only the ones that have not injured your president (in her article she admits to scars from her own encounter with a pit bull). It amazes me that this organization can go one step further and encourage legislation against pit bulls.
    UNBELIEVABLE.

In the words of Marilyn Manson’s Beautiful People

The beautiful people, the beautiful people

it’s all relative to the size of your steeple

you can’t see the forest for the trees

and you can’t smell your own s—- on your knees

And, just for the record, I am not a drug dealer or some other scum that abuses animals. I am a public school teacher, business owner, and father of 2 girls (who love our pit, Ginger).

If you feel so strongly about doing away with pit bulls, I suggest that you do it personally – you look in their eyes and flip the switch or pull the trigger, then we will see about you conviction to eliminate this breed.

Yet another great blog entry. I actually wrote an article about this as well: http://www.iheartpaws.com/articles/40/1/Non-Profit-Organizations–Beware-of-the-Bad-Apples-by-Christina-Harvey.html

Check it out. I’ve truly grown to HATE PETA more than I’ve ever experienced hate in my life.

I stumbled upon this link last night http://www.nokillnow.com/PETAIngridNewkirkResign.htm … it also reveals a LOT of information about the evil Ingrid Newkirk.

The quote on this site that gets to me most is:

“This is a good time to revisit a comment from Ingrid Newkirk’s mentor because it puts today’s events in perspective:

“We are not especially ‘interested in’ animals. Neither of us had ever been inordinately fond of dogs, cats, or horses in the way that many people are. We didn’t ‘love’ animals.” – Peter Singer, acknowledged founder of the animal rights movement. ”

All I can do is shake my head and say “WOW”.

Again, keep up the great work!

  6. Laurie

This morning my daughter’s dog – a rat terrier/poodle mix was brutally killed by a Stradfordshire Terrier. I witnessed the murder.
I will do everything in my power to speak out against this breed. Maybe we should send Pit Bulls to Iraq to do our dirty work for us.

    Sincerely,
    Laurie

  7. Jason Mann

    To Laurie,
Sorry to hear about your daughters dog. But again, it was the owner that allowed the incident to happen and not the dog. Your last comment is stupid and ignorant. As are most comments made by emotional people about subjects. Sit down and think, it was NOT the dogs fault. It was the person in control of the dog that caused the problem. When will people get that?

  8. Lora

    To Jason,

I totally agree..i have a 9 month old pit and he is just as sweet as any child. I have had him since he was 10 wks old. Pits are good dog…its the owners who dont train them right. My dog (Boss) obeys his commands, but likes to try to get away with thing…he is a lovable dog. I cant believe how ignorant people are when it comes to understanding that its the fault of the person who trains the dog and not the dog itself.
I cant wait to get another pit.

  9. gia

holy crap some of you ppl are insane. I have a pit bull and she is soooo sweet. It is the person behind the leash not the dog. Laurie..why don’t you go to iraq and do your own dirty work. Are you insane?! I’m guessing a bush supporter—you know kill innocent animals and ppl because of a few bad seeds. Lady you need to get a pit bull—i hope it goes against it’s nature of humaan loyalty and bites you.

Even though I think the above written is in itself ignorant and not very intelligent, I do agree with Jason’s view on Pit Bulls. I have been attacked by dogs a few times in my life and all times it was by Rottweilers. And yet they are on of my favorite breeds. Why? Well b/c some of the best dogs I have met in my life have been Rottweilers. Why? Well b/c a dogs temperment is determined by it’s socialization and training by it’s owner. I was almost killed by a Golden Retriever. Yes one of America’s most favored dogs. Not b/c GR’s are vicious dogs but b/c dogs by nature are protectors. If they are trained to protect then they will do as such. You can train any dog to be vicious and you can train any dog to be loving and friendly. In my experience Pit Bulls are one of the most loving and friendly dogs if they are socilized and trained properly. Jason, the comments made by PETA and Bill Maher are very true statements. They are basically saying that people breed animals for their own status. If people really love animals then they will adopt or buy any dog no matter what breed or size. The “in thing” is to find the smallest dog. So there are people out there cross breeding and messing with smalls breeds to make the most money. It’s not about the love of animals but the love of the status of having such a small dog and the love of the money they will make from it. As for Bill Mahers comment he is saying that if we have to test on animals to help humans than maybe we should find a better method. Animals don’t have a means to defend themselves and we have to protect them. We should not be using animals as a way to test our experiments, medicines, drugs, cosmetics, etc. PETA may be extreme and sometimes get lost in the cause but they do their best to try and help the helpless. They are humans and most times come off the wrong way. Our ability to verbalized leave us vulrnable to getting lost in translation. It’s very easy for people to come off anti-human when humans do such stupid stuff. Look at what they have done to the reputation of the Pit Bull. If people think that by ousting the Pit Bull drug dealers and undesirables won’t just find a new breed they’re sadly mistaken. I am thankful for sites like these that speak up for the Pit Bull. My cat was mauled by my neighbors Pit Bulls in my home, which they broke into, and I would never blame the breed of dog only the dog owner. They are just like children if you raise them right they will do right.

    Christina,
I checked out that site NoKillNow. It’s a totally fabricated site. Every photo on it is one some kid digitally remasted on photo shop. Don’t allow yourself to get caught up in the world wide web of crap. Know that people are not perfect and everyone doesn’t have a perfect past. If you find dirt on someone know they can probably find dirt on you too. Ingrid is not a perfect person as none of us are but she is trying to do good for animals. Make sure that if your allowing yourself to get all twisted up over a website that you check out the validity of the website first. I am not trying to be nasty or antagonistic in anyway by this comment but I just wanted to let you know that any Shmo can make a website and there are more fake ones than real ones out there. Don’t allow some jackass who has too much free time upset your day. :)

  12. Jason Mann

To Rach: Can you prove it is totally fabricated?
