Discrimination – Pit Bull Owners Face it Daily
November 6th, 2008
Discrimination is a real problem within the Pit Bull community.
People often over look the details of discrimination. There are Pit Bull owners that walk their dogs before the sun rises or extremely late at night because they are afraid of discrimination. They are afraid of people who spit, throw coke cans at them, poor hot coffee on them and well, I think you get the point.
Never before in the history of dog ownership have a group of people been so widely discriminated against than Pit Bull owners.
Laws that are put into place to target Pit Bulls are, in my opinion, directly used to discriminate against the owners of Pit Bulls or Pit Bull type dogs.
The Humane Society of the United States as publicly stated on many occasions that Pit Bulls are “the dogs of choice for drug dealers, gang members, and anyone else who is looking for a dog to be a status symbol.”
For over forty years they have been telling the general public that “rednecks and dog fighters” have Pit Bulls and now they add “drug dealers and gang members” to the description.
What does this do? It paints a picture to show people that (A) only criminals or people looking to use a dog as a status symbol own Pit Bulls or Pit Bull type dogs and (B) it teaches discrimination based on a breed or type of dog.
I am often told how people “hate that people discriminate against a breed of dog.” My response to their comments is the same every time, it is not the breed of dog being discriminated against, it is the owner of the dog that is being discriminated against.
Take a long hard look at the words being used in conjunction with Pit Bull ownership.
Drug dealer, gang member, redneck, dog fighter, someone seeking a status symbol.
These words are used for a purpose. To make you look like one of those people.
We use this tactic in warfare all the time. After all when the enemy is “less than you” it is easier to kill them and do your job as a soldier. We demonize the enemy and we use that to train our troops that killing, when for a great cause, is righteous. However to make it even easier we degrade the enemy, make them appear evil, make them appear like lower life forms, then we can do the work of war.
The HSUS is using this same battlefield tactic against Pit Bull owners. They demonize our dogs and make us look like dangerous criminals who only want a status symbol or a “weapon” on a leash. Then, when it comes time to pass an illegal law against Pit Bull owners the general public (having been completely hoodwinked) bites hook, line and sinker and supports the law.
Make no mistake my friend, you are the target not your dog.
I have said it before and I will say it again, the HSUS is a radical, animal rights organization that wants nothing more than to kill your dog and make you a criminal by putting illegal lawsin place and falsely accusing you of crimes like dog fighting.
Hundreds of people have lost their dogs because the HSUS lied about them and the authorities swoop in and illegal take their dogs and then kill them before any proof has been shown on behalf of that person.
Just ask Floyd Bordeoux. His dogs were seized and killed and there was not a single shred of proof to prove the HSUS and law enforcements claims he was fighting his dogs. Yet, they stole his dogs and immediately killed them. Including the puppies!
Regardless how you feel about Mr. Bordeoux you should be outraged.
Outraged!
